Bare 7mm Ultrawarmth Dry Hood - Add extra warmth to your Scuba Diving

Going for Scuba Diving in this weather...MAD!!😂
Spring this year seems still sleeping somewhere and making its arrival very late and slow. 1st of April 2017 had wonderful sunny day, brilliant for diving weekend. This year? We had SNOW!!! I could not believe my eyes!! Did it stop us from going for diving? Nahhhh! Nothing could stop us from Scuba Diving. We have serious addiction problem with Scuba Diving. 😂

When diving in cold water, equipping yourself well with thermal items is crucial. As long as you keep yourself warm during the dive, it is, in fact, quite pleasant; crystal clear water, quiet dive site, slow movement of fish (they must feel cold as well!).
Of course selecting good thermal inner wear is very important; however, the most important item for me is a HOOD.
Body heat escape from your head much more than anything. When having a good hood, you can feel amazingly warm.

When "mild" winter, 5mm Hood may do good job for many divers. If 7mm, it is much better when the water temperature is below 7C, from my experience.
I normally feel extremely cold in water, very bad. I have been using 9mm hood for winter. It is warm; however, after 1 dive, my jaw hurts very badly. 9mm neoprene is thick and warm but lose its flexibility unfortunately, causing pain on your jaw.

Recently, I received 7mm Ultrawarmth Dry Hood from Bare Sports. Bare is known with high quality neoprene. Their neoprene grade is always "A" while most manufactures' top end neoprene can achieve B or C. This 7mm Ultrawarmth Dry Hood is now becoming my alternative option for cold water diving. Elastek outer fabric for great fit and stretch; high-loft Celliant inner fabric helps conserve lost body heat and accelerates thermal recovery. In other words, 7mm thick ness with warmth of more than 9mm thickness. With this hood, I don't get pain on my jaw after diving! With top quality neoprene, it is very soft on the face. Let's see how many divings it can work. Sometimes, soft neoprene get compressed faster than the others. I shall find that out a bit later.

As a Scuba Addict, our search for good quality equipment never ends.
Diving is FUN!!
